Outfit: Leather and Loafers

Simply Be Coat | Jack Daniel's t-shirt | F21 Chinos | Etsy Leather Penny Loafers | Jewelmint Ring | F21 Bracelet

These leather loafers from Etsy are hands down the best purchase I've made in ages. They're perfectly worn in, go with everything, and are perfect with my leather coat that I refuse to take off. And yes, that's my beloved Jack Daniel's t-shirt, again!

Dear Sunday

I was so thrilled when it started snowing last night, that I couldn't wait to take an early morning walk before it all melted. My neighborhood is especially quiet when it snows, and I love finding tiny animal tracks on the tree-lined street near my apartment. I'm spending the rest of the day catching up on magazines and sipping too many cups of hot cocoa. What are your plans?

Outfit: Leather Owl

Simply Be Coat | Old Navy Sweater (similar) | F21 Jeans (similar) | Converse Chuck Taylor | Black Radiance Lipstick 5112

I stepped out today not knowing what the temperature was going to be, but hoping it was like yesterday's unusual 60 degree weather. I was completely wrong, but since I wasn't going to be out all day, I stuck with this outfit. I was freezing, which explains my clenched fists! Needless to say, I can't wait until Spring.

Outfit Bits: Sunday Red Cross

Oh hai! I thought I'd pop in with a quick Macbook outfit post. I've just been lounging around most of the day, and actually intended to photograph a proper post, but I kinda just want to cuddle in bed all day with Swedish Fish and a GIRLS marathon (can't wait for tonight's premiere!).

I'm Wearing:

Cross Cardigan - F21
Jack Daniel's T-Shirt
Lips- MAC Charmed I'm Sure

Instagram Life

I thought I'd share a few of my favorite Instagram snaps as of late...Follow me @Styleloverepeat for more.

+ Hot cocoa and a bit of coffee for a caffeine + sugar overload. I still love my own pumpkin hot cocoa recipe though.

+ My favorite Woolrich coat with my Zara bag peeking from behind.

+ My favorite Modern Alchemy candle in Eros. Both the glass and the scent are so sexy.

New In: A Little Whiskey

Technically this isn't a brand new purchase, since I picked up this perfectly worn Jack Daniel's t-shirt last month. Since then, I've worn it about 1001 times. I'm not a huge whiskey drinker, but I've always loved the typography on the bottle label, and it's even better on a t-shirt. When the weather was a bit warmer, I wore it under my camo jacket, then under a white blazer, with leather shorts, and every other day with black skinny jeans. Best $9 investment ever.

I purchased mine from a different seller, but this seller has different sizes available.

January Fashion + Beauty Wishlist

I've been on a spending ban for the New Year, but I've still been looking at pieces that are first on my list when I'm able to shop again. The first piece, a ridiculously stunning leather bustier needs to be in my closet. I already have about 5 outfits in mind, and it would be so good if it were in my size! I'm considering having one made just like it. No joke. The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette I think is a must for any matte lover, especially if you're not bold with your eye looks. The Tarte blush in Tipsy is one I've had before, and the peachy color works so well with my complexion. The Vanille parfum smells just like cookies, and I've been coveting it forever, along with the Tokyo Milk Bubble Bath that's jasmine and gardenia scented. The newest item on the list from Julep is a limited edition rose gold(!) glitter polish I can't wait to try.

Let Go

We're a week into the new year, and while I don't have any resolutions, there is something that I need to change. I tend to shy away from personal posts here, but I want to share more of myself with my audience so here goes nothing. I can be such a control freak sometimes, and that's something that has to give. My faith helps me tremendously, but I still find myself worrying about things that are completely out of my control. Worried to the point of anxiety. So I'm making a conscious effort to not stress the petty, focus on self-improvement, leave the rest in more capable hands.

What's In My Bag?

I love watching What's In My Bag? YouTube videos, so I thought it would be fun to show you what's been in my Zara bag lately. I swear I try not to carry unnecessary things (though my boyfriend may tell you otherwise), but a girl does need options, right?

I always carry a red lip color, lip balm, powder, sunglasses, perfume and hand lotion, but here's a peek at the rest:

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent -The BEST powder I've ever used!
A pair of vintage earrings
The Body Shop Ginger Lip Balm
Sheer Cover Concealer
Silk Shine Edges - perfect for taming flyaways when my hair is in a bun!
Business Cards
ID Case
Keys and Android phone

What's in your bag?

Outfit Bits: Kaleidoscope

It's a bit late in the day, but I couldn't wait to show you my new favorite top. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, and it's even cuter on. The first image that popped in my head was a kaleidoscope, which made me love it more. The mirror print is so striking (very Givenchy-esque), and perfect to dress up or down with ease. I wore it last night with an oversized cardigan to beat the chill.

How I Prioritize My Life

Prioritizing my life on a daily basis is a daunting task, and I'm admittedly prone to procrastination. It's often difficult for me to really make time for any and everything, but there are a few things that help me along the way. The first thing I have to do is make lists. Whether it be pink post-it notes on my wall, reminders on my phone, or even notes on my hand, if I jot down what I need to do, accomplishing tasks is a bit easier. Not to mention, it's so satisfying to cross things off the list!
I also turn to friends, family, other bloggers, and even some of my favorite reality TV shows to pick up pointers on prioritizing. As crazy as it sounds, there are helpful shows out there, with Mary Mary being one of my favorites.
The WeTv show is centered around the gospel singing duo, and how they successfully manage a career and growing family responsibilities. Each episode is a reminder that balancing a home and a career is possible, with a little help and organization along the way.

Does your life feel like a reality TV show sometimes? Tell us about it!

It's situations like these that the three-time Grammy® award-winning gospel duo Erica and Tina Campbell face in Season 2 of WE tv’s hit series Mary Mary as they balance being recording artists, mothers, and wives. MARY MARY premieres Thursday, December 6 at 10|9c and moves to its regular timeslot on Thursdays at 9|8c, beginning December 13. Watch a sneak peek here!
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of WE tv. The opinions and text are all mine.

Spirited Style with Baileys

When your wardrobe consists of mostly black and neutral tones, it can be a little difficult at times to stand out from the crowd. So when Baileys asked how I add a little spirit to my style, the answer was obvious. With accessories! I love to make a statement with my jewelry, whether it's one bold piece, or a few unique delicate pieces that pull my look together. Spirited style is all about adding a dose of personality to your outfits every day! In this case, I'm wearing my favorite "love" ring, and a pretty red and gold dotted manicure.

How do you show off your spirited style?

No nonsense Leggings & Tights

Two of my favorite Fall and Winter staples that I can't get dressed without are definitely tights and leggings. Black tights and leggings are basics that I constantly reach for to keep my legs warm and cozy throughout the season. Black tights and leggings are building blocks to complement any dressy or casual outfits, and really go with anything. I love the look of opaque black tights or leggings with wedges or boots, and leggings are a a welcome alternative to jeans or trousers. Tights are a must-have to wear with that dress or skirt in cooler temperatures. No nonsense carries affordable and quality tights and leggings in a variety of colors, patterns and textures, and for this post, No nonsense surprised me with a pair of purple corduroy leggings and a pair of brown semi-opaque tights in brown to style.

I was really excited to receive two pairs in brown and purple, since I normally don't venture far from basic black or grey. I have to say, it was fun to add these colors to my wardrobe! Even though I was unsure about the purple leggings, I love them!  For my first outfit, I paired my purple corduroy leggings with a cute grey owl sweater, my favorite leather jacket and cap-toe flats. This look is perfect for the weekend, and the leggings are really comfortable and warm. I dressed them down, but I could see these worn with a blazer and wedges for a dressier look. Definitely a must have, if you want a fun color!

My second look was a bit dressier. I usually reach for black tights, but I chose to wear the brown pair I received with my favorite red patterned coat. I love the warm color combination, and I especially love brown paired with black, so I reached for my little black dress. This look is perfect for a dinner out with my love or with friends. Aside from the colors, the best thing about No nonsense tights is the durability. My tights had no snagging and tearing, and stayed strong all day.

Outfit | Happy Thanksgiving!

I have so much to be thankful for every single day, but this year I'm especially grateful for all of you! Your support of Style. Love. Repeat. means the world to me, and I hope you and your families are enjoying this day.

I kept it simple and comfy today, with my new favorite fox sweater, skinnies and velvet flats. By the time I took this pic, I was two plates of food in and exhausted, so please excuse my tired face :)

Hurricane Sandy + Updates

By now most of you know about the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, and the impact the storm has had on the East Coast. After I lost power last Monday night, I wasn't sure when I would be able to blog again, but I'm happy to say I've been safe and sound in Brooklyn since last Thursday. I, like so many others were unprepared for Sandy, and still can't really fathom what's been happening. I was lucky that my brother and boyfriend were able to come get me in New Jersey, but there are so many others who weren't as lucky. My area is still without power, but it doesn't compare to the people who lost everything. I've been a bit hesitant to even blog, and feel a bit of guilt for trying to get back to normal, when so many have nothing to go back to. For the few days I was in the dark without access to the social media world, it was a scary wake up call. I had little food, no hot water or heat and my building was pitch black. Necessities that I hardly think about, were all I wanted at that point. It really makes you think that the trivial shit we complain about, hope for, and covet are so meaningless when disaster strikes. I was lucky, even then. I still had a roof, warm blankets, and a gas. So many couldn't say the same.  I still feel a bit strange about things, but hopefully I'll resume my normal blogging schedule soon. I'm rambling now, so I'll end with this: if you can donate time or money for those affected by Hurricane Sandy, please do. You can donate to the disaster relief efforts of the Red Cross by going to their website here or texting REDCROSS to the number 90999.

Hope you all are safe and sound.
Janelle

Outfit of the Day: Rainy Day Camo and Neon

Today was one of those "throw anything on because it's so gross out" kind of days, so I threw on my favorite camo jacket from Old Navy and my amazing black and neon oxfords from F21. It's still a little warm out, so I was fine with just a light tee underneath. What I wasn't fine with though, was the lovely driver who splashed me with water as I was walking. #PedestrianProblemas

P.S. Check out my quickie outfit vid here.

Outfit of the Day: Simple & Chic!

I uploaded this outfit post video on my YouTube channel not too long ago, and I plain forgot to post it here (bad blogger!). It's my favorite smart chic look right now, and I love that I can pile on the accessories or keep it simple depending on the day.

L'Oreal Limited Edition Project Runway Collection with Duane Reade

For my latest Duane Reade VIP mission, I excitedly attended a launch party for the latest L'Oreal Electric Fantasie collection, inspired by Project Runway. If you watched the latest episode of Project Runway, you would have seen some of the makeup from the collection being used on the show.

The Electric Fantasie collection consists of four different looks: The Artsy Muse, The Seductive Temptress, The Enchanted Queen, and The Wise Mystic. To celebrate the collection, L'Oreal makeup artists were on hand at Duane Reade to offer guests free makeovers and makeup tips from the look of their choice. It was a hard decision (all of the looks are gorgeous!), but I chose The Seductive Temptress. I loved the warm tones of green and brown, and couldn't wait to see the final look.

Diana, the lovely and talented L'Oreal makeup artist applied the eyeshadow, eyeliner lipstick and lip gloss from the collection, and the final look was amazing. I loved it so much I went home with the entire Seductive Temptress collection!  I also loved the looks on fellow bloggers Tineey and Granola Glamour. All of the guests enjoyed L'Oreal goodies (including coupons towards purchase of L'Oreal products), Baked by Melissa treats and of course, shopping the store!
My Seductive Temptress goodies!

You can check out more photos from the #DRLoreal event on my Google + page, and look out for an full review on the products I picked up from the collection.

The full Electric Fantasie line is currently available in-stores; will you purchase the collection?

A Little Beauty Shopping with the New Duane Reade Balance Rewards!

Have you heard? Duane Reade has launched their new rewards program, Balance Rewards (formerly Flex Rewards). The Balance Rewards card is also valid at Walgreens stores, so it's even more convenient if there isn't a Duane Reade near you. I stopped in to switch over my account, and I did a little shopping when I was there. Before heading to the store this morning, I checked the Duane Reade site to see this week's bonus points offers, as well as the weekly circular, and was ready to go! The Balance Rewards do add up rather quickly, and with your new card you can get 500 points for every prescription, earn points on thousands of items each week, and you can redeem instantly with as few as 5,000 points.

The Balance Rewards points system works as follows:
5,000 points = $5
10,000 points =$10
18,000 points =$20
30,000 points =$35
40,000 points =$50

Now to what I saw in-store!
I stopped by the beauty section (of course) to see the new products out for Fall...
And then I made my way to the skin and hair care aisle, because I knew some of my favorite brands were on sale.
 Shea Moisture was 20% off!
 And Alba was 10% off!
At the register, I switched over, and received 10 points just for signing up!

Check out Duane Reade's Social Channels to find out more about the #DRBalanceRewards:

Have you enrolled in the balance rewards program yet?
