Instagram Life

I thought I'd share a few of my favorite Instagram snaps as of late...Follow me @Styleloverepeat for more.

+ Hot cocoa and a bit of coffee for a caffeine + sugar overload. I still love my own pumpkin hot cocoa recipe though.

+ My favorite Woolrich coat with my Zara bag peeking from behind.

+ My favorite Modern Alchemy candle in Eros. Both the glass and the scent are so sexy.

Let Go

We're a week into the new year, and while I don't have any resolutions, there is something that I need to change. I tend to shy away from personal posts here, but I want to share more of myself with my audience so here goes nothing. I can be such a control freak sometimes, and that's something that has to give. My faith helps me tremendously, but I still find myself worrying about things that are completely out of my control. Worried to the point of anxiety. So I'm making a conscious effort to not stress the petty, focus on self-improvement, leave the rest in more capable hands.

My Revlon Expression Experiment

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Revlon for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Revlon is one of my favorite beauty brands, so I was excited to be given the opportunity to take part in the Revlon Expression Experiment! It's awesome that Revlon is encouraging women to empower themselves by simply changing their makeup!

I'm definitely more of a natural makeup kinda girl, and my go-to face is a "no makeup look" - lots of lashes, minimal (if any) foundation and a nude glossy lip. But for this experiment, I wanted to break out of my comfort zone. I loved that I was sent two of the brightest lip colors that I would never pick out for myself. Admittedly, I was convinced that I couldn't rock a bold red lip for two reasons. For one, I'm quite shy and there's no hiding with a red lip! And I haven't found a red that I thought was right for my skin tone.

The two colors I used to create the look below are the Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Fire + Ice, and the Revlon Colorburst lip gloss in Fire. Both appear to have a warm, orange-red tone and look great on my skin tone. I also think the the color is universal and would work on a variety of skin tone. The finish of the lip color is really creamy, and not completely matte which I like. I added a dap of the lip gloss over it to create a more intense look. The lip gloss isn't sticky, and both lasted about a good 4 hours before I needed a touchup.

It was a really relaxed day, so I tied a cute polka-dot scarf around my afro, put on my favorite cat-eye sunnies, and let my red lips do the talking!
For the second part of the experiment, I was so excited to receive a Colorstay nail polish in Indigo Night. The vibrant blue is perfect to wear right now, but I know I'll also reach for this deep shade in the Fall and Winter seasons. I love how easily the formula is to apply, and the color payoff is amazing! I only applied one coat to achieve what you see below.

Happy Mother's Day!

This describes my beautiful mother in a nutshell. Today is always really hard for me, but I try to spend it remembering just how lucky I am to have had such a strong, loving mother for the time that I did.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

How I Style Denim: The Creative Interview

This series is brought to you by Levi’s® Curve ID. Find your custom fit at Levi’s® stores or Levi.com

I am a true denim diehard, and I rarely reach for anything other than the comfort of my dark skinnies. When I had to decide on an outfit for an upcoming interview, I knew I wanted an outfit that I felt confident and comfortable in. Fortunately, I was interviewing at a beauty brand so I could be a bit more relaxed in my outfit choice, and denim was acceptable.

I chose basic pieces that were classic and chic, but still showed a bit of my personality. The actual outfit was a tailored blazer with my favorite silky striped top, paired with velvet flats to finish the look.
It was a bit chilly that day, so I also wore my new trench coat and an adorable printed scarf.

P.S. I got the job!

I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

New In: JewelMint Spring Picks!

The generous folks at JewelMint were kind enough to send me 3 pieces of my choice from the February collection. I've been looking for more subtle, everyday jewelry that still had a unique feel to them, so the timing was perfect. I picked pieces that I thought would be perfect to wear through the Spring, and I'm so pleased with each one!
The first item I chose was the Blanc Bomb ring, which is my favorite! I love the yellow gold and white cabachon stones, and the shape is edgy yet feminine. It has a substantial weight to it, and I think it would work well with pastels for the Spring.
The second item is the Here to Eternity set which includes small rose gold heart stud earrings, and a three strand necklace with charms. The first charm is a small knot, the second is the word Love, and the third is a small pave crystal bar. It's light and minimal enough that I would wear it everyday, with a blazer and jeans. I'm wearing it below with a simple off-the-shoulder top, and I love it!
The third item is the Emerald City ring set that I had to have when I saw the deep green color. I'm really into thin band rings with channel set stones at the moment, especially on my thumb.

Have you picked up any new JewelMint items?

Defining Moments...

When I was asked to share my most meaningful moment of last year, one moment stood out by far as the most defining. It was last May when I decided to pursue my writing dream. I had always written personal short stories, poems and the like, but was hesitant to really take the necessary steps to write full-time. A lack of self-confidence and other distractions led me down a path that I just wasn't happy with, and I knew I had to make a change. I needed to make my passion work for me, and I was finally ready to begin.

I created Style. Love. Repeat. to combine my love of writing and fashion, and to give myself a creative outlet as I continue on my journey to happiness. I knew that nothing would happen overnight, and I decided that a personal blog full of my thoughts and inspiration would be the best way to start.

And as scary, as it's been, I've learned so much more about myself and made huge strides towards my goal. I've met so many like-minded individuals, and have been afforded amazing opportunities that I couldn't have imagined would come from just putting myself out there.
at New York Fashion Week

I'm so incredibly thankful for this meaningful moment, and am so excited for what's to come.
