Autumn Uniform

This weekend we had a little taste of cooler weather in NYC, and it felt so good to put on a pair of boots and my favorite cardigan. I may be rushing it, but I can't wait to break out my cable knit jumper. This outfit is perfect for everyday, and it's the little details that make it special. The soft leather satchel in classic ivory, the mens' Fossil watch inspired by the 50s and 60s, and the most comfortable Bass loafers.

Pre-Fall Chic: Cap-Toe Flats

Metallic cap-toe shoes are everywhere currently, and I've found the perfect pair for a flats girl like myself. They can obviously be worn with dressier outfits, but I'm loving the idea of pairing them with a simple jeans-and-a-tee look. The best part? They're only $29.95 (plus 25% off with code B2SCHOOL25) at ShoeDazzle!

Jessica Biel's Workwear Chic

Between planning her wedding to Justin Timberlake, and promoting Total Recall, Jessica Biel has been everywhere lately, and looking stylish and sophisticated while doing so. These three looks are such inspiration for your 9-5 wardrobe: understated, comfortable and pulled together. I especially love the first and last looks that are perfect for a more relaxed work environment, or for casual Friday.

GUESS Fall 2012 + A Lesson in Schoolgirl Chic

The moment I saw this GUESS Fall campaign, I was envisioned the days when I used to hike up my pleated skirt and wear opaque tights with my penny loafers or Doc Martens. I hated my Catholic school, but my uniform (bowtie included) was adorable. Back then, a daily uniform got a little boring, but I'm totally incorporating all of the basic elements in next season's wardrobe. I'm swapping the cardigan with my school's emblem for a leather jacket, penny loafers for platform boots, a high-waisted pleated skirt (no hiking necessary), and piling on my jewelry.

Outfit Inspiration: Edgy Summer

I've been loving easy, flowy bottoms as of late, and MANGO has been killing it with soft separates. I love these wide-leg trousers as an alternative to a maxi skirt. I love them paired with my favorite F21 clutch, and my newfound faves from Essie and Revlon.

Outfit Inspiration: Christine Teigen at Summer Party on the High Line

With all of the color-blocking, tribal print lovin' and bold hue everything happening in fashion, it's easy to forget how good a simple jeans and white tank outfit can be. Trading the white tank for a sexy cami and the skinnies for a light trouser jean like Chrissy Teigen make the combo ready for a summer night out. And since we've had our first heat-wave in NYC, I can't even imagine wearing anything too complicated right now.

Summer's Most Wanted: Bold and Patterned

Lately I've been experimenting more with color and patterns, but I'm still not willing to let go of wearing all black or white. These pretty pieces (save the maxi dress) allow me to do just that, but still make statement. How gorgeous is the Anthropologie clutch?

Summer Days and Nights With Old Navy Swimwear

When I'm on holiday, I like to pack as little as possible, so I need to take pieces that do double duty. I don't want to spend too much time thinking about what I'm going to wear, but of course I want to be cute!

The best way to easily transition from beach-ready pieces during the day, to a sultry dinner-and-drinks outfit in the evening is to treat your swimwear as a stylish base. I created two looks that would be perfect for any warm-weather getaway, with my favorite Old Navy swimsuits as the base. The printed bikini day look is ideal for lounging by the pool, or a day of shopping and sight-seeing. I love it paired with classic denim cut-off shorts and metallic sandals for a playful touch.

The second look is definitely my favorite and is so chic! I fell in love with the deep blue color of the halter one-piece and knew it would be so amazing dressed up! I paired it with pleated shorts in a flowy fabric, killer heels and minimal accessories for an effortless evening outfit. With glowing skin and sleek hair, you could be ready for cocktails in a flash!

Which look is your favorite? Will you try Old Navy Swimwear for your summer getaway?

Thank you again to Old Navy for sponsoring my post. I was compensated for this post as a member of Clever Girls Collective, but the content is all my own.

She effortlessly elevated her simple jeans and white t-shirt with a versatile sleeveless trench, statement bag and neutral heels. I love this look!

Chic Spring Layers

The weather in NYC has been anything but Spring-like. and as much as I'm dying to lighten up on the layers, it's simply too cold! I love this transitional look- the sunny yellow dress and tortoise frames scream Spring, and the motorcycle jacket adds much-needed warmth.
