I finally got a chance to pick up these balm stains after seeing them in the drugstore for some time now. I was tempted to pick up the Clinique Chubby Sticks, but at $16 each, I figured I'd save a little and try the Revlon brand instead. I have to say I love the packaging and the variety of colors, and I really wanted to buy them all. But I chose the darkest pink (Smitten), a pretty purplish tone (Darling), and a nude (Precious).
Pros
-- The formula is creamy, smooth and long-lasting. And the stain is very pigmented in the darker tones.
-- The packaging is so cute!
-- There's a wide variety of shades, one for every skin tone.
-- The price (around $9) is definitely more affordable than the similar Clinique Chubby Sticks
Cons
-- The lighter shades aren't as saturated on darker skin tones, or really pigmented lips.
-- The slight minty, dental-floss smell when you first apply the balm to your lips.
-- For those with dry lips, you need to make sure your lips are exfoliated before application, otherwise the color can appear flaky.
Overall, I really like these, and I especially love Smitten. I definitely want to pick up more colors!
Have you tried them yet? What do you think?
Great review. I've been thinking about picking up a couple of these lippies. Smitten and Darling are pretty.
